KEIGHLEY'S MP revealed figures which he says show how a subsidiary company at Airedale Hospital would damage staff terms and conditions while harming the public purse. John Grogan said the figures were provided to him by a "senior hospital source", adding they include an estimate that the cost of setting up the new company would be at least £400,000.

KEIGHLEY MP John Grogan has hit out at rail fare increases which take effect this week. And he claims that for many people, travelling by train is now becoming too expensive. Passengers on the Airedale line will be hit with the latest price hike tomorrow, when the cost of a Keighley-Leeds season ticket for example soars from £1,176 to £1,216.

SUPPORTERS of efforts to resurrect a rail link which would give Keighley passengers a direct route into Lancashire are being urged to attend a campaign group's next open meeting. The Skipton-East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership (SELRAP) is staging the meeting at Earby Community Centre, New Road, on Monday, January 8, at 7pm.

POLICE located and destroyed five cannabis farms each cultivating 25 plants or more in Keighley in the last 12 months. This figure, revealed by West Yorkshire Police following a Freedom of Information request, compared with three cannabis farms comprising 25 plants or more in Keighley over the previous year. Police operations against this crime from November 2016 until November 2017 included one case in which 54 plants were seized at an address in the town, a separate incident involving "at least 50 plants" and a third case in which 41 plants were netted.
