KEIGHLEY'S MP has tabled an early day motion to the House of Commons condemning the murder of Muslim civilians in Burma. John Grogan was responding to the most recent wave of violence in the Rakhine State of Burma – also known as Myanmar – which has resulted in tens of thousands of ethnic Rohingya Muslims fleeing over the border into Bangladesh.

A TRADE union has blasted what it says are "disastrous" plans to create a company to run major parts of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. UNISON, backed by Keighley and Ilkley MP John Grogan, said the move would amount to privatisation, and would destroy staff pay and conditions.

MPs are working across the political divide to protect green belt in Wharfedale. Labour MP John Grogan, who represents Keighley and Ilkley, has been having discussions on the issue with Shipley MP, Conservative Philip Davies. Mr Grogan told a meeting of Ilkley Parish Council that he wanted to see a change in national policy and a return to a brownfield development first approach.
